Sound Familiar?

Why Positive Reinforcement Works for Reactivity

If your daily walks feel more like a battle than a bonding experience, you likely recognize these common reactivity struggles:

  •  Barking and Lunging: Explosive reactions when seeing dogs or people on walks.
    • Red-Zone Behaviour: Your dog becomes difficult to redirect or help recover once triggered.
    • Walking at Odd Hours: Planning walks early in the morning or late at night to avoid triggers.
    • Leash Tension and Pulling: Frustrating, uncomfortable walks that feel like a constant struggle.

• Address the Cause, Not Just the Symptoms: We don’t use prong collars, shock collars or leash corrections. Instead, we identify what is driving your dog’s reaction and use management, distance, desensitization and positive reinforcement to create safer, more lasting change.
• Change the Emotional Response: We help your dog form safer, more positive associations with their triggers while teaching them alternative ways to respond.
• In-Home and Real-World Application: Training takes place in your home and neighbourhood, where you and your dog experience the actual challenges.

  • Change the Emotional Response: We help your dog form safer, more positive associations with their triggers while teaching them alternative ways to respond.

Reactivity Is Communication

When your dog lungs, barks, or growls, they aren't trying to give you a hard time—they're having a hard time. Reactivity is often rooted in fear, frustration, or a lack of coping skills. By understanding what your dog is trying to tell us, we can build a training plan that actually addresses their needs rather than just suppressing their symptoms.

No Judgment—Just a Practical Plan

We know how isolating reactivity can feel. Our goal is to provide you with a safe space to learn and practical tools you can start using immediately. No shaming, no outdated dominance theory—just compassionate coaching for you and your dog.

Support Beyond the Training Session

Training doesn’t end when we leave your home. Every program is designed to give you long-term success.

    • Personalized homework plans after each visit
    • Training videos and supporting resources when appropriate
    • Guidance between lessons
    • Adjustments based on your dog’s progress
    • Coaching for the people who regularly handle your dog

One Year of Continued Support

Clients who choose our six-lesson program receive one full year of continued support by phone, text, email or Zoom. This gives you somewhere to turn when questions arise or new situations occur after your lessons.

Reactivity rarely changes through one technique or one training session. Progress may begin with your dog recovering more quickly, responding at a greater distance or successfully passing a trigger that previously caused an explosive reaction.
Our goal is to create safer, calmer and more manageable walks while helping you understand what your dog needs. We’ll build progress at a pace your dog can genuinely handle.

Progress, Not Perfection

You Don’t Have to Keep Planning Your Life Around Your Dog’s Reactions
